Mung Bean Sprouts Recipe: Add This Amazing Bean to Your Diet Today!

Mung bean sprouts are nutrient dense, packed with antioxidants and phytonutrients. They are a significant source of magnesium and one of the highest ranking sources of plant-based protein available. They are also packed with fiber –  one of the most filling foods there is.

They contain a hormone created by the body when it feels full called cholecystokinin. When mung beans are consumed, twice the amount of cholecystokinin is produced. There is also plenty of evidence suggesting that mung beans can help decrease PMS symptoms, boost immunity, fights diabetes, and lowers blood pressure.

How to Make Mung Bean Sprouts

  1. Rinse the mung beans until the water runs clear. (Be aware that they will increase up to 3 times the volume you start with.)
  2. Next place the rinsed beans in a clean bowl or jar. Use a clear one to be able to observe their process best.
  3. After that, pour water to cover the beans
  4. Subsequently, you will see the beans swell after about 6-10 hours. The length of time it takes depends on the humidity and temperature of your home climate. Next, drain and rinse them a couple times.
  5. Place the swelled beans in a  jar, covered with a cheesecloth.  After that, set them in a cool dark place.
  6. In conclusion, rinse them every 12 hours until they are the length you like, maybe a couple days.
