Decadent Superfood. Try Gluten Free Hot Chocolate

Warm Moments

During the winter season there is nothing quite like a mug of Hot Coco after coming in from the snow. Unfortunately that store-bought package isn’t doing your body any favours. This recipe I found is dairy free and gluten-free and with organic ingredients you don’t have to feel guilty about.

Actually you might even get away with saying its healthy (The Kids won’t mind 😉 since Raw Cacao Powder is nutrient dense, packed with minerals like magnesium, calcium, zinc, iron, copper and potassium. It is also one of the richest natural food sources of antioxidant flavonols. How could you go wrong?

Good For The Body, Good For The Soul

Chocolate really does improve anyones mood and it also smells absolutely decadent while its brewing. Definitely a good way to bring friends and family together to share and bond or to perhaps put that extra touch on special moments with a partner or loved one. This recipe could even be good to make for a valentines treat as well!

There is just a bit of salt added in this recipe to help really bring out the chocolate flavour and it really does the trick. And why not try it with a high mineral salt? Bam, bonus healthy minerals!

    Directions

Bring water to a simmer in a large sauce pan, add cocoa powder and whisk together well. Add remaining ingredients. Keep mixing thoroughly, on and off, for a few minutes. If it starts to bubble up, remove from the heat for a few seconds. The mixture will begin to thicken as the water evaporates.
